Between a “sell-out” audience and a very successful, all day “A Cappella” Youth Workshop, KW’s Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society marked the chorus’ 70th Anniversary in fine style this past Saturday, May 7th.
The youth workshop was led by “SHOPTIMUS PRIME” who were also the headline quartet in the evening celebration. Shoptimus Prime is the reigning WORLD SILVER MEDAL quartet in the “Youth Division”.
As well as raising substantial funds for the chorus’ regular charities, HARMONIZE FOR SPEECH FOUNDATION and SING CANADA HARMONY FOUNDATION, the chorus decided to sell water in aid of relief efforts in Alberta, and raised an instantaneous $700 which will be matched by government and other institutional grants. WHAT A NIGHT!!
