Sing for the Season
Again this year, the Twin City Harmonizers are inviting men of all ages in the community to join us in celebrating the season in song by joining us on stage to sing a few well known Christmas songs as part of our annual Christmas shows. We start rehearsals with guest singers on October 22 with the first hour devoted to a warmup and learning the mostly familiar Christmas music, both sacred and secular, that will be used. You will learn the songs along with our regular chorus members after which you are free to leave or, if you are interested, remain for all or part of the regular chorus rehearsal that follows as well as a social gathering. In either case, there is no obligation.
Sheet music will be provided but the ability to read music, while helpful, is not a requirement. We use a variety of teaching methods. If you can sing, “Happy Birthday” you should have no trouble. At the show itself, you will be invited to come up from your seats to the risers on stage to perform hopefully without the music. Thus, a little homework may be helpful. You will receive 2 free tickets to the shows.
There is ample documented evidence that singing truly is good for you, and for sure we do have fun. We do hope you will want to join us for the rehearsals and show.
Regular rehearsals start at 7:30 pm on Tuesday evenings at the Luther Village, 141 Father David Bauer Dr., Waterloo. There are 2 performances - Saturday, November 30 at 2:00 pm at Calvary United Church, 48 Hawkesville Road, St. Jacobs; and Sunday, December 1 at 2:30 pm at Tavistock Mennonite Church, 131 Wettlaufer St., Tavistock.. Guests may choose to sing in either or both shows. Again, there is no further obligation – actual or implied.
