Tonight at rehearsal Bob Mitchell was given a plaque for his years of service with the Twin City Harmonizers. Yes ! 62 years with us.
Here is the letter given to Bob by Rich Hubick our President
It is with great pleasure and admiration that I write this letter to you upon your retirement from The Twin City Harmonizers. Being a member of any organization for 62 years is truly a remarkable achievement but adding to it the many contributions you have made cannot go without special acknowledgement.
When I spoke to chapter members, the common response was that "Whenever you needed something important done, you would ask Bob Mitchell because you knew it would get done and get done well".
Two Christmas Concerts In Cambridge and St.Jacobs.
Both enjoyed by the Harmonizers and audiences .Christmas Carols sang to their utmost perfection with a twist of lyrics in the old favourite "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town " . Then the TwinCity Harmonizers went into their "Hockey Night In Canada" song which won them first place in the cross Canada contest a few years ago.
The Classic Chordsmen sang Christmas Carols and Happy Birthday to Marlene Martin at Premier Equipment in Elmira. It was a surprise planned by her huspand Glen who also gave her flowers. A cake was also given to Marlene from Premier. The Classic Chorsdsmen (Rich Hubick, Dennis Dueck, Art Groff and Ray Brenneman) had a good time as did Marlene ,Glen and the employees who watched. If you want the Classic Chordsmen to sing at your event call Dennis at 519.748.6809 or Art at 519.884.1348.
WOW !
What an evening with our fellow barbershoppers and excellent night of singing and good company .
Dawghouse is held annually at the Cambridge Nights of Columbus. It's a night of singing and spending time with all our different chapters around Ontario , sponsored by us (the Twincity Harmonizers) .
Choruses and quartets are invited to show us their talents by taking to our stage. We have a food truck which supplies you with a menu of sausage on a bun , schnitzel on a bun and many other combinations to delight your pallette.
All the members help to make this event a success every year.
Again another job well done by all! See you next year at the 2017 Dawghouse. Plan to attend by marking it on your calender. The first Friday in November!
